Danger: Anti-oxidants May Worsen Diabetes?
Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at 4:42AM
Just when you think something has been proven healthy through solid scientific research, a new study contradicts the results. According to an article in Scientific American, a recent study in the journal Cell Metabolism suggests that free radicals play a protective role in preventing diabetes and that taking anti-oxidants destroys these free radicals thereby speeding up the the progression of diabetes. I don't believe that all opposing studies necessarily contradict one another so much as they reveal scientific complexities. This study is of special interest because I am investigating the possibility of pre-diabetes in myself and will be posting much more on this subject.
